Hello!
I hope you’ve had a safe week at home and have managed to have some fun as well as keep up with some work for school. Are you managing to get out and have a walk or a cycle or ride your scooter every day? Did you enjoy learning about Daniel last week? Look at this lovely glittery lion that Taliah made! He looks like a very friendly lion, don’t you think?!? Don’t forget that you can send me any pictures of what you have done at home that I can share with everyone. Grown-ups can email your pictures or messages to kath.erwin@ccchurch.org.uk

Hi – it’s Julia B here. Welcome to another week of Doing Church Differently for kids. I hope you enjoy this opportunity to praise God and learn more about him at home together. Today we are going to be thinking about saying THANK YOU to God.
In recent weeks, many people have made posters, banners and gone outside on Thursday evenings to express their thanks to NHS workers, carers and keyworkers by clapping, banging saucepans, playing instruments and generally making a noise to show their appreciation. Maybe you have joined in too? They all deserve our thanks.
So does God and we want to take time to thank him today.
We are going to start with a song that gives you the opportunity to shout out loud and also try out your dance moves! Click on the link below and sing along:
Before you look at the story, talk about what you would like to say thank you to God for.
Here are a few ideas to get you started: family, sunshine, food……….See how many more you can think of.
Now watch the story about the thankful leper which can be found in Luke chapter 17 verses 11-19.
Talk about these questions:
1. How do you think the lepers felt about being healed?
2. Why do you think only one of them went back to say thank you to Jesus?
3. How can we be more like the thankful leper?
Choose from these activities:
1. Spell out ‘Thank you God’ in one or more of these ways: magnetic letters on the fridge, plasticine, Lego, make clothes into the shapes of letters, arrange crayons, or twigs. Maybe you can think of a good idea of your own.

2. Make a ‘Thank you God’ poster with pictures of things you want to thank God for.
3. Listen to this song called Be thankful. Maybe you could write a verse of your own with things you are thankful for.
Finish by praying together and saying thank you to God, using some of the ideas you thought of earlier. You could end by clapping, banging saucepan lids and shouting out “THANK YOU GOD!”
Have a lovely day and don’t forget to send us pictures of anything you do!
See you next week!
For the grown ups, check out our Doing Church Differently whilst you’re here.
