Hello again everyone!
Did you have a good half term? The weather has been lovely so I hope you’ve been managing to get outside and remembering to put your sun cream on! After Doing Church Differently For Kids last week, Taliah chose to do the colour by numbers of Joseph’s coat – what a colourful coat it is!
We’ve spent a lot of lockdown time playing a new card game called Goat Lords! Taliah also tried hard this week not to say ‘It’s not fair!’ so much when people stole her cards … but we still have some work to do here!

Hello! ? It’s Julia B back again this week.
In our time together today, we’re going to celebrate and give thanks for God’s amazing and awesome creation. He has made a wonderful world for us to enjoy and look after. Let’s start by singing “Lovely Jubbly”. It’s a good reminder that all of God’s creation is “lovely jubbly!” He made it all, in all its variety. What a wonderful God we have!

I’ve always loved being outdoors, enjoying the beauty of God’s creation and have appreciated it more than ever during these past couple of months in lockdown. It’s been great to go for lots of walks, to be in the garden and to see the countryside changing through these past weeks. Many people have liked being out in nature more during this time, especially with such good weather, and enjoyed exploring close to home.
I wonder what you’ve seen and maybe noticed for the first time as you’ve spent time outdoors or looked out of your windows? Talk about it together now.

I love seeing and hearing all the birds in the garden – woodpeckers, robins, blackbirds, blue tits and more. It was also lovely to see a family of ducklings on a local brook. I’ve enjoyed the different seasonal flowers, from daffodils to bluebells, buttercups in the meadows and blossom on trees. I’ve liked seeing sheep and lambs in fields nearby and though I’m not keen on ants, it’s fascinating watching them in the garden, scurrying busily to and fro in a line. I could go on…. as that’s only some of what I’ve seen here. What about all the different animals, birds, fish and creatures around the world, all the amazing mountains, seas, deserts and landscapes, all the stars, planets….? You get the idea?! God has made an incredibly wonderful world!

Let’s look at how it all began.
You can read about it in Genesis chapter 1 v 1 – chapter 2 v 3. That’s at the very beginning of the Bible so it’s easy to find! If you have a Children’s story Bible, you could read about the creation story there and hopefully there will be some good pictures too!
You can also watch the story on the video below:

Talk about these questions:
1) What did God think about all He had made?
2) What’s your favourite day in the Creation story?
3) How can we help look after the beautiful world God has made?

Why not see if you can learn the very first verse in the Bible to remind you about what we’ve been looking at today?

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Genesis ch 1 v 1

Choose from the following activities:
1) If you can, go outside in your garden, or do this when you next go for a walk. Sit very quietly for a few moments then have a good look around, maybe under stones or rocks too. See how many different birds, animals, insects you can see and what different flowers, plants or trees there are. Do you know what they all are?
2) Draw a creation picture, with as many elements in as you can eg. mountains, sea, river, trees, flowers, sun, moon, stars, people, animals, fish etc. If you have any stickers of any of those, add them into your picture.
3) Choose your favourite animal. Draw a picture of it. Ask an adult to help you find out some information about it.
4) Print and try this activity sheet.

Finish with a prayer to thank God for his wonderful creation and specifically for what you’ve seen or drawn today.
Have a good week and see you next Sunday!
Julia B
