Come Praise and Glorify Our God

Good morning Church!
This morning we are going to spend some time thinking about the greatness and glory of God and responding in praise to that.
The writer of Psalm 150 says:

Let everything that has breath praise the LORD

Why should we do this?

Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness
Psalm 150 verse 2

I don’t know what your Doing Church Differently habits are – we tend to take the comfortable approach and stay sat on the sofa. If you are able, I think it would be great to stand and sing these songs of praise with energy, as I will be making everyone in our house do!

Using the lyrics of the first two songs, let us pray:
Father God, we praise you for making us pure and blameless in your sight and the many blessings you pour out on us. We praise you that you are the God who saves. We ask this morning that you will help us to see your worth, your power, your might, and your endless love so that, surely, we will never cease to praise you.

For me, there is no better place to see God’s glory than from the tops of mountains! The enormity and intricacy of the mountains, the view from the top, and the often-extreme weather all put into perspective the greatness and majesty of God and the littleness of myself. I know that climbing mountains is not everyone’s cup of tea but however you choose, find a way to marvel at the God’s glory and respond in praise!

There isn’t a version of this next song with lyrics but I wanted to share it with you all so please listen to the words and be reminded that we are created to worship God.

Isn’t it amazing that God has chosen us to bring glory to his name?

Here are the final two songs; please use the last one as a prayer before we hear a message from God’s word.

O God, reveal Your glory,
Through the preaching of your word. […]
For You have the words of eternal life.

Have a great day,
James

I am delighted to be able to tell you that Faye has recorded another message for us this week. Thanks so much, Faye, for doing this – and everything else that you have done and are doing at the moment.
This week’s message is called “Childlike Faith”.
