Hello!
We hope you and your family are well and staying safe. We thought you might be missing getting together on a Sunday and would like some activities to do at home each week until we are able to be all together again. Ask a grown-up to look at some of the things below with you. Take some photos or video of anything you do and ask your grown-up to email them to kath.erwin@ccchurch.org.uk for a prize!
Today we are going to be thinking about the story of David and Goliath from the Bible but first let’s share one of our favourite songs together. Play the video below, turn the volume up and sing LOUD! We hope you can remember the actions!
Before we look at our story together, talk about how brave you think you are. Then listen carefully as you watch the story. You can choose a shorter 5 minute cartoon version or the Superbook episode which takes about 30 minutes.
Talk about these questions:
1) How do you think David felt when he saw Goliath?
2) Why was he so brave?
3) What are you afraid of?
4) Who can help you when you are scared?
There is a verse in the Bible that talks about being strong, brave and courageous. It is found in Joshua chapter 1 verse 9.

Go for a walk with a grown-up or have a look in your garden. See if you can find some sticks and small stones. When you get back inside, see if you can make something like the sling and stones in the picture below. If you prefer, you could draw or paint a picture of David and Goliath, or print and colour in this one. If you want something a bit trickier, print this wordsearch.
Send us a picture of your craft or drawing for a prize!

Say a prayer together thanking God for being with you and looking after you when you are scared, worried or afraid. Maybe you could finish by singing the song again that we started with!
Have a great day and see you soon!
In case you missed it, here is our Doing Church Differently post for grown-ups.
