Good Morning Church! It’s Sunday again! Or didn’t you know it? These lockdown weeks may have become monotonous and without structure. You may not even know what day of the week it actually is but ‘This is the day that the Lord has made and we will be glad and rejoice in it!
Maybe you feel far away from God this morning? Acts 17:27 says “He is not far from each of us.” Each of us. You will never go where God is not. Never. We can all enter and enjoy God’s presence. But many don’t! They plod through life as if there is no God to love them. As if the only strength is their own and as if the only solution will come from within, not from above. They live God-less lives. But God has spoken and the writer of the Psalms clearly states “When I am afraid, I will trust in You, God.” Put your hope in God. You will get through this.

Psalm 16:11 is a favourite verse of mine – full of reasons to bless the Lord!

“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
Psalm 16:11

God has blessed me in recent months with renewed acquaintances of school friends who I once ‘walked the path of life’ with. Almost 50 years later we have ‘found’ each other and are discovering a common bond in faith and trust in Jesus.
One of these friends, Ann, recently shared a video clip with me that spoke to me powerfully. I hope you will find it speaks to you too.

We have all spent time in the refiners fire as we have walked the path of life. We have fired questions at God and pleaded to know why this is happening to us or what kind of God allows this or that. We are going through the refiners fire . The refiner is always at work in us, seeking to make us pure and holy but how precious is the thought that the Refiner is watching over me at all times so that the silver will not be hurt and He will carry on the process until I am like Him!

“I will bring that group through the fire and make them pure. I will refine them like silver and purify them like gold. They will call on my name, and I will answer them. I will say, ‘These are my people,’ and they will say, ‘The Lord is our God.”‭‭
Zechariah‬ ‭13:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Take a few final minutes before Faye speaks to us to quietly come before God, thank Him for the refining work in your life and worship Him in this last song.

  1. Thanks Faye, a great reminder of who we are in Jesus.

God is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine according to His power at work in us. Ephesians 3:20

We are His masterpiece, we must step up to fit into His master plan
