Hello!
I hope you’ve had a good week! I was really thrilled to hear that some of you enjoyed completing last week’s activities at home so well done to all of you – remember to say thank you to the grown-ups who helped you! Remember too that you can send me pictures of what you have done at home that I can share with everyone – we all love to see what you are doing! Ask your grown-up to email anything to kath.erwin@ccchurch.org.uk

Hi – it’s Marion here and this morning we are going to look at a little bit of the life of Daniel. Before you sit down to enjoy the story, we’re going to sing another of the songs we love together! Don’t forget the actions!
Well I hope you are all exhausted but enjoyed signing to praise God. In the song we talked about knocking on the door and God opening it for us. In today’s story, you will see when a door was closed on Daniel and he felt very afraid. Watch the story now and see what happened:
Do you think Daniel was afraid?
I think Daniel was afraid but because of his faith, it meant that he could trust God to look after him. His faith in God had been tested before. In Daniel chapter 6 verse 16 it says that the King gave the order and they brought Daniel and threw him into the lions’ den.
Then the King said to Daniel:

The king loved Daniel and did not want him to be hurt so he didn’t sleep or eat all night long. He ran to the den first thing in the morning to see if Daniel was well and we know from the story that he was.
The reason I chose the song we sang earlier was because God rewarded Daniel’s faithfulness and he lived! The king also sent out a message to the nation in Daniel chapter 6 verse 26:
‘I issue a decree (a law) that in every part of my kingdom people must fear and reverence (worship) the God of Daniel’
So God opened up every door for people to love God and they no longer needed to worry about worshipping their God instead of the King.
Draw or make a picture of Daniel in the lion’s den. You could use your imagination and anything you might have in the house or outside to make the lions or the den. If you prefer, you could print this one and colour it in! There’s also a puzzle sheet to print if you are a little older.
If you have paper plates, paint or cake cases at home, you could create your own lion! Or just use whatever you can find in the house!

Remember to always put your trust in our faithful God.
Finish by thanking God together for his faithfulness and for always being with you when you are afraid. You could sing the song again too if you want!
Have a great day and don’t forget to send us any pictures of anything you do! See you next week!
For the grown-ups, here’s something for you.
