I don’t know how everyone is doing but it hasn’t even been a week yet since we’ve had the latest Government guidelines to lockdown and not go out of homes unless it is completely necessary. I can’t believe it hasn’t even been a week yet, it seems like an incredibly long week! Being asked to social distance ourselves from everyone except those in our home (and for a lot of us, that means we are on our own) that is an incredibly tough ask. We are used to popping out and seeing friends, going to church where we get to see so many and yet we can’t do any of that. If we dwell on this, we are going to drive ourselves crazy. This week I heard a preacher say that “nothing positive can come from a negative attitude”. So, this is my positive message for you today…
As we social distance ourselves from everyone, remember God will never social distance himself from you, whether you know Him or not He is still there right with you.
‘Praise the Lord; praise God our Saviour! For each day He carries us in His arms. Our God is a God who saves! The Sovereign Lord rescues us from death.’
Psalm 68:19-20
I read this verse a couple of days ago and loved the reminder that God carries us in His arms. You all probably know I don’t like hugs, but I’ll take a hug from God any day!! But seriously, it strengthened me to know that as I sit here alone, I am not alone – I am being held in God’s loving arms. God will never social distance himself from you. Find peace in His embrace.
‘Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.’
Hebrews 13:8
Covid-19 hasn’t changed God!
The songs I have chosen for us today are songs to remind us of how incredible God is and always will be.
Here’s a link to Rick Warren preaching the last message in our 40 Days In The Word series – Integrating God’s Word Into My Life.
Have a good week!
